Motels + Apartments

Methven Mount Hutt Village is a small rural township of 1500 residents, snuggled at the foot of magnificent Mount Hutt, home to one of NZ's finest ski-fields.

Travelling distance from Christchurch Airport is a comfortable 1-1.5 hour journey, either along the Main South Road, then State Highway 1 to Rakaia, turning inland, or alternatively along State Highway 73 to the Hororata Turnoff, then inland. You may also choose to travel the Inland Scenic Route, Highway 72, on your left just before Sheffield, further along SH73.

Arriving from the South, Queenstown, Wanaka or Mount Cook, join Highway 72 (Inland Scenic Route) at Geraldine, or from Dunedin/Oamaru/Timaru, travel on Highway 1 until Ashburton, and turn left onto Highway 77 to Methven.

Methven Motels and Apartments are situated on the corner of State Highway 77 (also named Main Street once you reach Methven) and Spaxton Street, at the Mountain side of the village. To walk to the village centre, with its shopping, eateries and activities operators, takes only minutes.
